Power — that is a subject that is talked about often.
The world invites us to be those that acquire power and use power for our own benefit and for our own good. Today, we learn that although the world values and rewards us when we acquire power over, Jesus invites us to Kingdom Power.
Kingdom power includes service and sacrifice. Kingdom power invites decisions that benefit the other. Kingdom power invites us to be last and to lose our own agenda and surrender to God’s agenda. The good news is that along with the surrender also comes the invitation of freedom, the invitation to live freely in God’s love, mercy and grace.
If you want to explore Kingdom power, drop me a note at pastor@stmatthews-elca.org and let’s have a conversation.
Peace and prayers.
