Don’t you love a “mountain top experience, “ especially when there is great clarity through the experience. The disciples, in our text this past Sunday, received on the mountain top, clarity and confirmation that Jesus was indeed the Son of God, chosen by God and the disciples were instructed by God to listen to him.
In the text, we also experienced the challenge of the mountain top experience. We can never just stay up at the mountain top and enjoy the clarity and the panoramic view. We have to come down and live out our “transfiguration,” the clarity we received on the mountain top.
Some times that is not easy. We want to just stay up on the mountain where it is safe and where everyone sees the same vision. However, God calls us down to the plains, as we have been transfigured and transformed, to share God’s love with the world that needs to know of the transformational power of God’s love.
May God bless your mountain top experiences and may God give you courage and strength for the experiences in the plains.
